Richard Marx will open Thornton Winey’s Champagne Jazz Series on Saturday, May 23.
Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Marx is known for such hits as “Don’t Mean Nothing” and “Endless Summer Nights.” His latest album, “After Hours,” came out in January.
Marx is currently on a tour called An Acoustic Evening. He will also appear at the Hollywood Bowl on June 10; North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista on June 12; and Yaamava’ Resort & Casino in Highland on June 21.
Memorable summer nights are what Temecula Valley wineries want to create for their customers. Most have free live music, but Thornton offers ticketed concerts under the stars with internationally known artists spring to fall.
South Coast Winery also has a ticketed series called Rhythm on the Vine, and Wilson Creek Winery & Vineyards occasionally has headliners under the label Country Concert Series, but neither currently have any concerts scheduled.
Champagne Jazz concerts start at 7 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. General admission is first-come-first-served with lines starting two hours before show time. Gourmet supper packages are available with assigned tables and dedicated servers.
