White Sox move up start time for series finale vs. Reds

The White Sox moved up the start time for the game Thursday against the Reds one hour to 12:10 p.m. because of the forecast for rain later this afternoon.

Manager Will Venable said talk about moving the game began in the 9 a.m. hour. The Sox announced the change at 10:10. Venable said for him, this was the closest to first pitch that a game time was moved.

“But these guys are the best in the world at making adjustments,” he said. “So they’ll be ready to go.”

Venable said the late change affected all of the Sox’ pregame plans.

“We had some meetings in place that we had to make adjustments on,” he said. “We were going to take ground balls today; weren’t able to do that. A little bit of a scramble, but these guys will be ready to go.
