Wine tasting nights are back at this scenic Los Angeles hill
It’s time for wine lovers to raise a glass, or two, or three, or four and cheer again with the return of the Barnsdall Fridays Wine Tasting monthly summer event.
“There’s hundreds of people hanging out and having a great time together,” said Daniel Gerwin, president of the Barnsdall Art Park Foundation, which puts on the event.
Held at the top of Olive Hill on the west lawn of Frank Lloyd Wright’s historic Hollyhock House, the wine tasting event is a fundraiser for the Barnsdall Art Park Foundation. It supports the park, its arts programing and landscaping as well as the 1921 Hollyhock House, which is Los Angeles’ only UNESCO World Heritage site and Frank Lloyd Wright’s first Los Angeles commission.
The wine tasting will take place every Friday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on the grounds of Barnsdall Art Park from May 29 through Sept. 11.

People can bring their own food, blankets to sit on, check out the great city views from atop a scenic park and for the $55 admission price they get four large pours of a variety of wines curated by Silverlake Wine, along with a rotating lineup of food trucks and DJ performances throughout the series.
There are also a limited number of $90 tickets will give people after-hours access to check out the historic Hollyhock House through an interior tour.
