Woman killed in Van Nuys hit-and-run

A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the Van Nuys area early Saturday, July 11, police said.

The collision occurred around 12:50 a.m. on northbound Sepulveda Boulevard at Wyandotte Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Investigators said a gray 2005-2011 Toyota Tacoma struck the woman as she was crossing Sepulveda Boulevard in an unmarked crosswalk. The driver continued north without stopping to render aid, police said.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She was described as being about 38 years old, but her identity was being withheld pending notification of her family.

The city offers a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of a hit-and-run suspect, the department said.
