Taco Bell has a new take on its Mexican Pizza that features chicken.
Cantina Chicken Mexican Pizza will officially go on sale for a limited time on Thursday, May 21. But Taco Bell Rewards members got early access to it on Tuesday through the chain’s app.
Like the original, it’s built on two crispy tortillas. But this one features roasted chicken and black beans and is topped with shredded red cabbage as well as diced tomatoes.
It comes with a packet of new Jalapeño Citrus Salsa Sauce, which a news release describes as sweet and spicy.
The cost is around $6.49. Prices vary by location.
Original Mexican Pizza is made with ground beef. There’s also a veggie version made with refried beans and cheese, but no added proteins.
Mexican Pizza has been one of Taco Bell’s biggest launches in recent years. It was introduced in the 1980s but got pulled from the menu in 2020. Taco Bell brought it back in 2022 due to customer demand, with pitches from fans such as Doja Cat and Dolly Parton.
Taco Bell has been promoting chicken since it launched its Cantina Chicken menu two years ago. In 2025, the Irvine-based fast food giant focused on making crispy chicken a permanent part of its menu. It’s currently serving five- and 10-piece Crispy Chicken Nuggets with Nacho Ranch dipping sauce.

Cantina Chicken Mexican Pizza was one of more than 20 innovations Taco Bell teased for 2026 at its annual fan event, Live Más Live, which was streamed from the Hollywood Palladium in March. Most of these items are still to come.
