“Being born in Greece, and my mom from Greece, just having that,” Stojakovic said on the Schuz Podcast.

“I think that’s pretty big, and I’m kind of leaning towards either Greece or Serbia. Haven’t given it much thought to play for Team USA ever in my life. Obviously, that’s something I would have to consider with my family if that time comes. But as of now, it’s probably going to be either Greece or Serbia.”

“Yeah, the national team of Greece,” Sojakovic added, “the coaches, came to visit me this past year. They came to watch a game while I was at Cal and came to visit for a couple nights. So I think that was a pretty serious approach by them.”


5. Andrej Stojakovic’s Mom Continues to Support His Career

Kamila remains active in supporting her son as he continues to develop at the college level.

Illinois teammate Jake Davis described Stojakovic’s approach, saying, “He wants to get better and wants to learn and strive to win games as a team. He’s very much a team player for us.”

Stojakovic has also credited his parents for allowing him to grow independently while still offering guidance.

“Not just about basketball but life in general,” he said of the advice he has received.
