The Vancouver Canucks will be one of the league’s most fascinating teams to watch during the 2026 NHL offseason. Due to how horribly the Canucks played this season, they made it clear that they are rebuilding. They traded away multiple players during this campaign, as Quinn Hughes (Minnesota Wild), Kiefer Sherwood (San Jose Sharks), Conor Garland (Columbus Blue Jackets), Tyler Myers (Dallas Stars), and Lukas Reichel (Boston Bruins) all found new homes.
Yet, with the Canucks’ rebuild being nowhere close to being over, more of their players should be on the move this offseason. One specific Canucks trade candidate who will need to be watched incredibly closely during the summer is star winger Brock Boeser.
Boeser was one of the Canucks’ most-talked-about trade candidates leading up to the deadline, and that should carry over to the summer. With the Canucks focused on the future, the 29-year-old Boeser would have the potential to be a very good trade chip for them to dangle this offseason.
When looking at teams that could make sense for Boeser, the Seattle Kraken stand out as an intriguing potential destination. They need more skill in their top six, and Boeser would provide them with just that if acquired.

Canucks’ Brock Boeser Has Been Connected to the Kraken
In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Lyle Richardson discussed a few potential trade destinations for Boeser. The Kraken were among the teams mentioned by Richardson, and it makes sense when noting that they need another star in their lineup.
“If Brock Boeser no longer fits within the Vancouver Canucks’ plans, he wouldn’t have far to move if he prefers to remain in the Pacific Northwest. The Seattle Kraken could be a destination for the scoring winger,” Richardson wrote.
When looking at the Kraken’s current lineup, there is no question that Boeser would provide them with a major boost. If acquired, he would immediately become their top right winger. With this, he could fit beautifully on the Kraken’s first line and would also be a clear fit on their power play due to his offensive skill.
Boeser would also be far more than a rental, which could make him an appealing target for a Kraken club that is still not close to being legitimate contenders. This is because Boeser has a $7.25 million cap hit until the end of the 2031-32 season.
Ultimately, with the Kraken needing another impactful top-six winger, it would make a ton of sense for them to make a major push for Boeser. The fit looks good on paper, so trading the Lightning’s 2026 first-round pick, their own 2027 second-round pick, and former first-round pick Eduard Sale would be worth it to land Boeser.
Boeser Won’t Be the Canucks’ Only Trade Candidate to Watch This Offseason
Boeser will not be the only Canucks’ trade candidate to watch this summer. Other players like Elias Pettersson, Jake DeBrusk, Thatcher Demko, Nils Hoglander, and Drew O’Connor all have the potential to be dealt.
With this, it could be a busy summer in Vancouver. It will be interesting to see if Boeser ends up being among the players shopped. If he is, expect Seattle to be calling.
