Smith won his first major title, the Grand Slam of darts in 2022, and has been runner up at the PDC World Championship (2019), World Matchplay (2019), The Masters (2020) and the Premier League (2018).

Smith reached the final of the World Darts Championship in 2019 and in 2022, but lost 7-3 to Van Gerwen and Peter Wright respectively.

But in 2023 Smith brought darts home as well as the £500,000 top prize.
