Roma are looking to make big signings in attack this summer and have put Mason Greenwood at the top of their shopping list.
The 24-year-old has been impressive since joining Marseille in 2024, scoring 48 goals in 81 appearances across all competitions.
He was the club’s top-scorer this season, netting 26 times, 12 more than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who was next on the list.
However, it was a disappointing season for the club as they finished fifth in Ligue 1 and missed out on Champions League football for the following campaign.

That means they may have to cash in a big name player to stay in line with financial rules and Greenwood could be the one to go.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Roma have made Greenwood one of their ‘dream’ signings this summer, along with RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa.
The Italian publication reports that Roma believe they can get Greenwood for a fee of around €50m (£43m), which seems ambitious seen as he has been prolific since his move which cost Marseille €31.6m (£26.6m).

If Roma get their man then it will be good news for Manchester United as they negotiated a significant sell-on clause when Greenwood left for France.
The BBC reported the sell-on percentage as ‘sizeable’, with Sky Sports reporting that it is between 40 and 50 per cent.
That would see Manchester United earn around £17m-£21m if Roma can do the deal they hope to with Marseille.

The Gazzetta report states that Greenwood’s father has held initial talks over a move to the Italian capital.
Roma could help Manchester United out this summer even if they don’t get Greenwood as Joshua Zirkzee is one of their other targets up front.
The Dutch forward is not in Michael Carrick’s plans going forward and the Red Devils are reportedly happy to let him go this summer for €25-€30 (£21.5m-£25.9m).

The 25-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Bologna in 2024 for £36.5m but has rarely convinced, scoring just nine goals in 75 appearances.
Roma’s planned splurge on attacking talent comes after securing Champions League football thanks to a third place finish in Serie A.
