NASCAR Truck Race at Bristol Stacked with Cup Series Stars

Anytime a NASCAR Cup Series driver competes in a CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race, it adds some excitement.

In this Friday’s Truck race at the Bristol Motor Speedway, the field is stacked with a number of Cup regulars. The Tennessee Army National Guard 250 is scheduled for 250 laps around the 0.5-mile short track.

Seven Cup Series regulars will look to spoil the party for the Truck Series field. Here, we will take a closer look at those Cup drivers who are going trucking at Bristol this Friday.

Kyle Busch, JGR drivers headline Truck race at Bristol

There is no doubt Kyle Busch is going to be a contender to win on Friday night.

Piloting the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet, Busch is going for his second Truck win of 2026 in his second start. The two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion won earlier this year at EchoPark Speedway.

No one has been more dominant at Bristol than Busch. While Darrell Waltrip has the most Cup victories at Bristol with 12, “Rowdy” has 20 wins at the Tennessee short track across the three top NASCAR series.

Busch has eight Bristol victories in Cup, seven in O’Reilly, and five in Trucks. With an impressive track record at “Thunder Valley,” there is no doubt Busch will be one to watch on Friday night.

A pair of Joe Gibbs Racing Cup Series standouts will also take part in Friday’s Truck race. Wheeling the No. 62 Halmar Friesen Racing Toyota, Christopher Bell aims for his eighth career Truck victory.

Bell captured the 2017 Truck Series title driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports. The Oklahoma native is the defending Bristol Cup winner after claiming the victory in the fall race last year.

Announced on Tuesday via social media by Tricon Garage, Chase Briscoe will field the No. 5 Toyota at Bristol.

Briscoe last competed in the Truck Series in 2023. The driver of the No. 19 JGR Cup car has two victories in the Truck Series, with his latest coming at Eldora in 2018.

Ross Chastain, Carson Hocevar among other Cup drivers racing Trucks

After falling short to Corey Heim on the last lap at Darlington three weeks ago, Ross Chastain aims to get one spot higher at Bristol.

Chastain will field the No. 45 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet. The driver of the No. 1 Trackhouse Cup car has five Truck victories, with his last coming at Darlington in 2024.

Carson Hocevar will be another Cup name to watch in the Truck field. The Spire Motorsports driver will pilot the team’s No. 77 truck on Friday night. Hocevar’s fifth and latest victory in the Truck Series came at Kansas last year.

Hocevar’s Cup teammate, Daniel Suarez, is also in the Truck Series lineup at Bristol. Suarez will field the No. 71 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet and seek his second career Truck win.

Last but not least is Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who will field the No. 4 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet. Prior to this season, Stenhouse Jr. had never raced in the Truck Series.

In 2026, the Mississippi native has made two starts for Niece Motorsports, finishing top 10 both times.

Friday’s CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time. The race can be watched on FS1
