While Trout appeared upset, it was revealed that the pitcher (Bryan Woo) apologized.

Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com wrote: “Mike Trout said Bryan Woo apologized in-game to him after he was hit by a pitch up and in during the first inning. But he said he was upset in the moment after two straight pitches up and in.”

Trout finished the game with one walk and one run.

Trout And The Angels

With their loss on Friday, the Angels dropped to 3-5 in their first eight games of the season.

After winning their first two games of the year, they have gone just 1-5 since.

The franchise last made the MLB playoffs during the 2014 season.

Spotrac wrote (on Saturday): “With the Buffalo Sabres breaking a 14-year playoff drought today, a look at who still stands tall: New York Jets, 15 years LA Angels of Anaheim, 11 years Pittsburgh Pirates, 10 years Charlotte Hornets, 9 years Detroit Red Wings, 9 years”

Despite the team’s lack of success, Trout has been one of the best players of all time over his tenure with the franchise.

The future Hall of Famer is currently batting .240 with two home runs, three RBI’s, seven runs and two stolen bases.

Jeff Fletcher of SoCal News Group wrote during Friday’s game: “Mike Trout getting hit by a 95 mph reminded me that I wanted to keep following this throughout the season. Trout’s whiff rate on 95+ pitches This year: 4% (He’s 4 for 6 with a HR when putting them in play) Last year: 28% (.248 when putting them in play) It’s 0-0, mid 2”
