UFC 300 stars learn referee and judges fate after reshuffle of Dana White’s iconic card following fan backlash

THE stars of UFC 300’s main and co-main events have learned who will be overseeing their historic bouts.

Mixed martial arts’ top promotion hosts its 300th pay-per-view card in Las Vegas next month and have stacked the deck for the Sin City extravaganza.

Topping the iconic card is a tasty light-heavyweight title fight between champion Alex Pereira and former title holder Jamahal Hill,

And the co-main event of the evening, strawweight queen Weili Zhang will defend her belt against Yan Xiaonan in an eagerly-anticipated Battle of China.

And the quartet have this week discovered who will be protecting them inside the cage and judging their displays outside of it.

The third man inside the octagon for the main event will be veteran referee Herb Dean, who has been calling fights in the UFC and other MMA promotions for the best part of 20 years.

The judges cageside for the eagerly-anticipated bout will be Derek Cleary, Ben Cartlidge and Chris Lee.

The third person inside the cage for Zhang vs Yan will be Dean’s fellow veteran ref Jason Herzog.

Mike Bell, Ben Cartlidge and Chris Lee will be the judges scoring the 115lbs title fight.

The full list of referee and judge assignments for the mouthwatering card have yet to be released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

They are expected to become available the week of UFC 300, which recently underwent a change of bout order.

Earlier this month, the UFC brass opted to put middleweight prospect Bo Nickal’s clash with Cody Brundage to the pay-per-view opener.

The decision came after fan backlash to it being placed higher on the main card than the pivotal lightweight showdown between former champion Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan.

The winner of the mouthwatering showdown will likely be next for current 155lbs king Islam Makhachev.
