A driver died after he sped down Pulaski Road Saturday night and crashed into another car — causing his car to catch fire in the Archer Heights neighborhood, Chicago police said.
The male driver was speeding north on Pulaski Road in a Jeep Cherokee just before midnight when he crashed into a Honda Pilot driven by a 67-year-old man turning into the 4400 block of Pulaski, police said.
The Jeep driver lost control of the car and crashed into a tree and a fence. The car then caught on fire, according to police.
The driver, whose age and name have not been reported, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported, police said.
