Illinois state trooper accused of sexual assault in Tinley Park

An Illinois State Police trooper has been charged with sexually assaulting someone in southwest suburban Tinley Park.

Douglass Lee, 54, of Tinley Park, is accused of assaulting a person who was “unable to give knowing consent” early Sunday, according to a statement released Monday by the Tinley Park Police Department.

Police did not share any additional details about what allegedly happened. Lee was expected to appear in court Tuesday on a criminal sexual assault charge in suburban Bridgeview.

Lee has been employed with Illinois State Police since January 2004 and is currently on administrative leave without pay, State Police said in a statement.
