A United Airlines flight had to be diverted due to an “unruly passenger” shortly after leaving O’Hare International Airport on Friday night.
United Airlines flight 2005, traveling from O’Hare to Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, landed safely at the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, Wisconsin, around 9:10 p.m., the airline said in a statement.
The plane had to divert due to a “security concern with an unruly passenger,” the airline said.
The FBI was notified of the incident and the FBI Milwaukee’s Madison Resident Agency and local law enforcement responded at the tarmac.
The passenger was taken into custody by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, according to the FBI. Afterwards the flight resumed and landed in Minneapolis around 2:19 a.m. Saturday.
