Three children injured after car crashes through fence into nursery playground

A two-year-old boy is seriously injured and another two children are hurt after a car crashed into a nursery playground in Ellesmere Port. At around 9.54am on Monday, June 15, officers from Cheshire Police responded to reports of a crash at a nursery school on Vale Road in the Whitby area of the town. A recovery vehicle has now arrived at the scene on Vale Road.

A two-year-old boy is seriously injured, and another two children are hurt after a car crashed into a nursery playground in Ellesmere Port.

Partou Sunny Days Nursery and Pre-school confirmed they were ‘dealing with an incident’ and have closed their doors for the day.

Around 9.54am this morning, officers from Cheshire Police responded to reports of a crash at a nursery school on Vale Road in the Whitby area of the town.

Photos from the scene show the car smashed through a painted green fence into a play area for the children.

Witnesses reported seeing two ambulances, an air ambulance, a fire engine and four police vehicles, including an armed response vehicle at the scene.

A 63-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The vehicle said to be involved in the crash, a grey Omoda, is being removed from the scene right now.
