<p id=”par-1_18″>To no one’s surprise, there’s been plenty of drama around <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-harry/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Prince Harry</a>‘s big trip back to England. </p>
<p id=”par-2_59″>The duke, who arrived in the U.K. on July 6, was initially going to attend the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 with <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/prince-harry-was-able-to-marry-meghan-markle-because-she-didnt-do-this-1-thing-in-her-past.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>his wife, Meghan Markle</a>, and their two children. However, those plans were axed after the government declined the Sussexes’ request for taxpayer-funded police protection outside royal residences, and Harry made the trip solo. </p>
<p id=”par-3_56″>There were also reports that Harry was offered royal accommodations to stay at <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/king-charles-says-no-way-living-buckingham-palace-even-after-costly-renovations.html/”>Buckingham Palace</a> while in the country, but that offer was rescinded. That’s because the prince did not respond by the deadline, which was put in place so preparations and arrangements could be made since no one is living at the Palace currently. </p>

Harry is saying one thing, and the palace is saying another. This back-and-forth with contradicting statements feels like a throwback to where we were six years ago when Harry and Meghan announced they were stepping down as senior royals.</p>
