A man who was killed last month has been identified after the shooting that also left a woman wounded in the South Chicago neighborhood.
Jose Ariel Gonzalez, 40, and a 32-year-old woman were in the 8900 block of South Escanaba Avenue around 3:05 a.m. July 26 when they were both shot, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Gonzalez was shot in his neck and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he died, police said. The woman was shot in her chest and went to Trinity Hospital where she was in good condition.
Area 4 detectives were investigating.
