Sitting in the front row behind the Cubs dugout, Bears quarterback Caleb Williams donned a Pete Crow-Armstrong jersey and led cheers for his MVP candidacy.
Joining him were Caleb Wilson, the No. 4 pick in this year’s draft, and fellow Bull Matas Buzelis, who is one of Williams’ friends. Cole Bennett, aka video director Lyrical Lemonade, joined them.
The Cubs posted a social media video of the three banging on the dugout roof and leading the crowd in a “PCA” cheer until Crow-Armstrong turned around the wave at them.
Williams said on Thursday’s edition of “Hot Ones” that he considered Buzelis, Crow-Armstrong and Bennett among the friends that have helped him love Chicago.
They weren’t the only stars at Wrigley Field for the Cubs-Brewers game — Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Williams, who recently shaved his beard into a mustache, showed it off on the videoboard.
Teammate Kalif Raymond joked earlier Thursday that the “camp ‘stache” made Williams looked like his dad, Carl.
“I mean, he looks like he got four kids on the way right now,” he said, laughing.
Crow-Armstrong had a homer and two RBIs in a 2-1 win.
The Bears began for a three-day break after Thursday’s practice.
