‘The Further Mis-Adventures Of Cliff Booth’ Trailer: Brad Pitt Stars In Led Zeppelin-Scored Sequel To ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’
Brad Pitt‘s Cliff Booth is back, and he’s left behind the stuntman days chronicled in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood to become a grizzled Hollywood studio fixer in the first trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth.
The David Fincher-directed sequel to Quentin Tarantino‘s self-described “love letter to LA” is set eight years later in 1977. Booth is no longer working with Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton, who “got too fat” for Booth to stunt double, as he candidly explains at the end of the trailer, which is scored to Led Zeppelin’s classic 1971 blues-rock anthem “Black Dog.” He now works part-time as a bartender and projectionist when he’s not “solving situations for Hollywood’s great, and the, sometimes, not so good,” as Netflix’s Tudum blog puts it.
Booth is presented with an opportunity for more “extralegal” work when gets a call from talent agent Karen Crosby (Elizabeth Debicki), on behalf of her client, TV megastar Charlie Peters (Scott Caan).
“I lost count of how many jokers I killed on TV,” Peters tells Booth in the trailer, “but you actually killed people.” Referencing his berserk final fight scene with the Manson family in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Booth responds, “Let’s just say I know what it’s like to kill someone with a knife.”
Netflix’s description continues: “He’s further entertained and intrigued when he meets other characters in Charlie’s world, from his knowing wife Toni (Carla Gugino) to pro football champion turned screen star Roderick ‘Hot Rod’ Harrison (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II). Then there are the Verdusco brothers (Matt Groove and JB Tadena), mysterious gangsters causing mayhem across the city. What was once a fairytale is now a crime story—a cocktail of violence, ambition, and desire that could only happen in LA.”
The Further Mis-Adventures Of Cliff Booth is set for a two-week IMAX theater run starting November 25 before it hits Netflix on December 23. Watch the first official trailer below:
