Big Brother fans shocked as housemate quits in first for ITV reboot

Big Brother star Charlotte Nott has shockingly quit the show, it has been confirmed.

The 18-year-old student from Oxford is understood to have left the ITV House this afternoon, making her the first participant to voluntarily leave since the reboot began in 2023.

She was the youngest of the 2026 batch of housemates but has made her mark with her infectious energy and by holding her own as rows with other cast members erupted.

And on launch night, her entrance sparked huge debates online around accessibility, after a shoe malfunction meant she had to remove her prosthetic legs and enter the compound without them.

At the time, viewers raged on her behalf that a ramp or other measures should’ve been implemented, while a BB spokesperson confirmed that Charlotte’s arrival was rehearsed and she chose to use the stairs.

Charlotte herself then addressed the blunder in the Diary Room, explaining that her heel broke but maintaining good spirits: ‘It was just typical. Maybe it was my fate to walk in with no legs. Maybe that was just what was meant to happen.’

Now, following two weeks in the chaotic House, Charlotte, who lost her hands and feet aged three to meningitis, has bowed out.

‘Charlotte has made the decision to leave the Big Brother House, and viewers will see her departure in tomorrow night’s show,’ a spokesperson told Metro this evening.

‘We thank her for being a fantastic housemate.’

A TV source added to The Sun: ‘It’s been an absolutely crazy few days with the tennis balls, then chicken gate, then the eviction.

‘Charlotte woke up this morning and decided the experience just wasn’t for her, and she’d rather be at home with family.

‘She’s so grateful for the chance but made the decision to leave and is now on her way home.’

Her premature exit comes merely 24 hours after a live eviction, which saw housemate Chelsey Amari packing her bags.

After news of Charlotte’s sudden exit was confirmed, fans took to social media to express their shock, saying that she ‘will be missed’.

‘What noo! I think she had a chance to win’, @xViCkIx_ on X said, with @ivaanri echoing that they could ‘see her in the final week’.

‘This can’t be’, @SianThymes wrote, with @sabrinajaine tweeting: ‘This is a shame! She didn’t seem to be enjoying it that much though so I guess it makes sense’.

Several others are now begging for late additions to be revealed to make up the numbers, particularly after three women have already been evicted.

@BRATTYBARBl declared: ‘we have NEVER needed two female late entrants more than we do now’.

During her brief BB stint, quadruple amputee Charlotte opened up to her fellow housemates.

Her casting also led to one of the series’ most uncomfortable viewing moments thus far, as Rochelle Rackham confessed to her that she was ‘scared’ of people without limbs.

She said that, upon seeing her, she was ‘freaked out’, and voicing her feelings made her ‘really ashamed’.

‘When I saw you, I was like, “Oh my god,’ and I feel so ashamed because now I don’t even look at it,’ Rochelle told her.

In the aftermath, Chelsey quipped that Rochelle needs to ‘shut her mouth’, while audiences at home blasted her for the ‘totally disgusting’ comments.

Speaking candidly in her introductory VT, Charlotte explained: ‘People stare at me. People even take pictures of me. And I forget, because I’ll be out and I’ll be like, “Oh my God, I must be looking quite nice today!” and then I remember it’s actually because I’ve got no limbs.’

She also described herself as a ‘straight-talker’, joking that she was ‘scared for everyone’ about to watch her.
