Channel 4 has confirmed the Celebrity Great British Bake Off episode featuring recently-fired BBC star Scott Mills will not air.
The 53-year-old former Radio 2 host was sacked from the BBC in March after a complaint was made about a police investigation into Mills about ‘serious sexual offences against a boy aged under 16’.
The investigation regarding allegations of serious sexual offences against a teenage boy, dating back to the late 90s, started in 2016, with Mills questioned in 2018. It was ultimately closed in 2019 as the case did not meet the evidential threshold to bring charges.
The BBC confirmed they had been aware of the investigation since 2017, but the decision to sack Mills came after it ‘made after ‘it obtained new information relating to [Mills].’
Since his exit, there has been speculation over whether his Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off special would air.

Now, a Channel 4 spokesperson has said: ‘Having carefully considered the circumstances, we’ve taken the decision not to air the final episode of the 2026 series of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer, featuring Scott Mills.
‘Acknowledging the seriousness of the accusations that have been made against Scott we don’t believe it would be appropriate to air the episode at this time.
‘An alternative episode of Celebrity GBBO will go out in its place.’
Mills was meant to appear in the already-recorded special alongside Rag n Bone Man, Edith Bowman and Aston Merrygold on Sunday, April 18.
This is the latest in a long line of shows and events involving Mills, which has been pulled from the schedule.
The Celebrity Race Across the World winner was meant to present the RATW visual podcast spin-off, but has since been replaced by Strictly star Tyler West.
Meanwhile, the plaque on the Scott Mills Bridge on the M3 has been taken down, he could lose his Honorary Doctorate of Arts from Southampton Solent University, and he’s ‘stepping back’ from his role as MS Society UK ambassador.
Elsewhere, he’s been replaced as Eurovision commentator, a plaque at BBC studios dedication to him has been ‘removed’ and 1999 Top of the Pops reruns starring him set to air on BBC Four have also been pulled.
In a statement through his lawyers several days after his shock exit, Mills confirmed the Met Police investigation.
He continued: ‘Since the investigation related to an allegation that dates back nearly 30 years and the police investigation was closed seven years ago, I hope that the public and the media will understand and respect my wish not to make any further public comment on this matter.’
‘I wish to thank from the bottom of my heart all those who have reached out to me with kindness, my former colleagues, and my beloved listeners, who I greatly miss.’
His sudden sacking has left his fans and friends shocked, including media personality Rylan.
A source told the Daily Mail that the Big Brother star, who has worked closely with Mills over the years, is ‘devastated’.
‘Rylan and Scott are so close. They have done a lot of work together, but see a lot of each other socially, too. They always had each other’s backs. This will be rough for Rylan,’ they added.
