Cheryl Ladd Reflects on Treatment and Recovery
Speaking during the panel, Ladd reflected on the shock of her diagnosis and the road that followed.
âMine was an aggressive form,” Ladd said, as per People. She added, “I had wonderful doctors.”
Ladd described her experience as both physically and emotionally challenging, recalling the impact of treatment.
âI was bald. It was a humbling experience, and yet I have a wonderful husbandâ¦he was there for me at every turn. Eventually, I started to get little sprouts of hair. It was a long, long, hard road, but you just get on with it.â
She said she chose to speak openly about her journey in part because of the shared experiences among her co-stars.
âCharlieâs Angelsâ Stars Bond Over Shared Health Battles
Ladd, Smith, and Jackson have each faced breast cancer at different moments in their lives, a shared journey that has quietly strengthened their bond far beyond their years on screen.
Smith was diagnosed in 2002 and underwent treatment before becoming cancer-free. Jackson was first diagnosed in 1987 and later faced a recurrence in 1989, undergoing additional surgery and reconstruction.
GettyThe trio also honored the late Farrah Fawcett, who was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 and died three years later at age 62, remembering her as part of their enduring sisterhood.
Reflecting on their connection, Smith said, âThe first thing I did was send her my wigs. She was so brave.â
She added in a separate interview, Today quoted the star saying: âIt just connects you because you know what theyâre going through,â highlighting what she described as âthe power of girlfriends.â
The reunion also offered a heartfelt opportunity to speak openly about awareness and the importance of early detection.
âItâs really important to understand and embrace not being afraid of getting a mammogram,â Jackson said. âEarly detection is key. Find it early enough, and youâll probably be all right.â
Ladd gently reinforced that message with a reminder rooted in experience.
âIf you find a little something in your breastsâ¦do not ignore it.â
Health experts continue to highlight the value of regular screenings, noting that early detection can make a meaningful difference in outcomes and treatment.
A Lasting Friendship and Legacy: ‘The Power Of Girlfriends’
As they looked back on the legacy of âCharlieâs Angels,â the conversation turned to the bond that has carried them through lifeâs most difficult moments.
âI always talk about the power of girlfriends. Itâs so important,â Smith said, as per Today.
Ladd shared a similar sentiment, reflecting on the message they hoped to bring to audiences. âI felt the same way. I thought that showing women who were for each other, not competing with each other, that we were all for each other.â
Jackson added, âNobody ever had to say, âIâve got your back.â That was just the way it was.â
Decades after the show first aired, that same sense of support and connection continues to define their friendship, both on screen and in the quiet, real moments that matter most.
