Fans of Olivia Wilde had plenty of supportive words after her latest red carpet appearance became a topic of conversation online.
Wilde, 42, appeared at the San Francisco International Film Festival on April 24 for the opening night screening of her new film, “The Invite.” San Francisco-based SFGate shared a video from the event on Instagram a few days later.
After the clip circulated online, some viewers raised concerns about Wilde’s appearance. Other users pointed to the lighting, camera angle, and phone lens used in the video.

“Why is this even a post? She’s beautiful. We’re living in such a world where everyone has to be perfect. You can’t be too fat; you can’t be too thinâ¦Like, who cares? Look at people on the inside, not the outside,” the comment said.
Another person said they saw Wilde in person while the video was being filmed.
“Oof, wrong lens for sure. I was background on this … and she is breathtaking [in real life] â¤ï¸,” the person wrote on Instagram.

Because the movie is set in San Francisco, Wilde spoke to SFGate about how the film used the city as part of the story.
“I think we really took advantage of everything that I love so much about this city,” Wilde told SFGate. “Itâs such an incredible cultural melting pot, and you can feel that. It sets the tone for our film.”
After its Sundance debut, “The Invite” drew major interest before A24 picked up the film in a deal worth more than $10 million, according to SFGate.
The movie is set for a limited theatrical release on June 26.
