Carrie Everett Will Be Missed
Fans of the beauty pageant winner sent her family heartfelt condolences after Everett’s passing.
“I am heartbroken to hear this. She is a light, and I had absolutely rejoiced in watching her journey as a young woman. My deepest condolences to her loved ones,” one fan commented.

Carrie Everett Battled Cancer
Everett was diagnosed with “a rare and aggressive gastric cancer, metastatic signet ring cell carcinoma” in July 2025.
Her family launched a GoFundMe to help her fight the disease.
“After serving for a year as Miss North Carolina, Carrie finished out her sophomore year of college. In July, she flew to Seattle to visit family for the summer. She started to experience intense bloating and coughing,” the fundraiser explained. “After multiple visits to the doctor, she was initially told she had pneumonia. On July 29th, scans found masses in her abdomen, the stomach lining was thickening, and enlarged lymph nodes. Blood work was done, and cancer markers were then found.”
Miss North Carolina Organization Releases Statement
The Miss America Organization extended its “deepest condolences” to the Everett family.
“Carrie began her journey in the Miss America program as Miss Johnston County, where she distinguished herself as a double preliminary winner at the 2024 Miss North Carolina Competition,” the organization shared via Instagram. “Carrie’s passing is a profound loss. Her voice, leadership, and commitment to empowering others made a lasting impact that will continue to be felt in the lives she touched and the communities she served.”
