It’s down to just two teams.
After an exciting month of March, the NCAA men’s basketball tournament delivered with some incredible finishes, leading to just two teams remaining. And it’s No. 1 Michigan and No. 2 UConn who will face off in the championship game on Monday, April 6.
The game is set to tip off at 8:50 p.m. ET, and will air on TBS, TNT, and TruTV.
So, there’s only one question remaining: who will cut down the net?
UConn Could Be Without One Of Their Key Players
UConn guard Solo Ball did not practice on Sunday ahead of the NCAA tournament championship game due to a foot injury. Huskies head coach NCAA tournament championship game revealed that Ball has “some type of a foot sprain,” and is in a walking boot.
There is some hope as Ball played for an additional 16 minutes after suffering the injury in the team’s win over Illinois in their Final Four matchup.
“I’m leaving it up to the medical staff and doing everything I can to prepare for tomorrow,” Ball told reporters on Sunday.
The guard is UConn’s third-leading scorer, averaging 12.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. He has started all 38 games this season for the Huskies.
However, it appears he is officially good to go as UConn reported no injuries, while Michigan has  L.J. Cason and Winters Grady listed as out. But Wolverines star forward Yaxel Lendeborg is on track to play.
âAll imaging has come back clean, and he’s getting treatment and doing rehab all day today,â Michigan head coach Dusty May said on Sunday of Lendeborg.
UConn Looking Forward To Potentially Pulling Off The Upset
GettyThe Huskies are entering Monday night’s game as 7-point underdogs against Michigan, but if they win, they will become the first program to win three national championships in a four-year span since UCLA from 1972-75.
âThereâs been plenty of times in the history of this tournament where the best team hasnât won it,â Hurley said. âYouâve just got to be better for one night. The good thing for us, itâs not a seven-game series.â
However, Michigan is ready to compete and will not be going down with a fight.
âWeâve talked about that. We have a team that we think is elite,â Wolverines coach Dusty May said. âBut we also know that once the ball is tipped, that means nothing. You still have to do all the things that got you to this point, and you have to weather storms.â
