<p id=”par-1_29″>Hours before <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/traviskelceinterview.html/?swcfpc=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Travis Kelce</a> married <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/inside-taylor-swifts-rhode-island-home-bachelorette-party-held.html/”>Taylor Swift</a>, he and his brother, Jason Kelce, dropped a special episode of their <em>New Heights</em> podcast, and their guest was none other than Prince William. </p>
<p id=”par-2_49″>While many royal fans praised the future king for his quick responses when he joined the podcast and talked with the siblings about sports for nearly half an hour, others wondered if the prince was venturing too far into a “celebrity royal” like <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/prince-harry-was-able-to-marry-meghan-markle-because-she-didnt-do-this-1-thing-in-her-past.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Prince Harry and Meghan Markle</a>. </p>

<p id=”par-4_77″>Grant Harrold was <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/former-royal-butler-reveals-amazed-king-charles-infamous-pen-incident.html/?swcfpc=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>King Charles’ butler</a> for seven years. Harrold’s duties included that of valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver. He also looked after Prince William and Prince Harry when they stayed at Highgrove House. Since leaving the royal household, Harrold has become one of the U.K.’s leading etiquette experts. In 2025, he published his first book, <em>The Royal Butler</em>, which became an Amazon bestseller. He regularly appears on TV offering royal commentary on both current and historic news stories.</p>
<p id=”par-5_53″>Speaking on behalf of <a href=”https://www.olbg.com/casino-sites” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>OLBG</a>, Harrold told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “This is similar to celebs going on chat shows for a general catch-up. William hasn’t associated it with any charity; there is no real motive to it. This is different from anything the royals have done before. There is no point to it. </p>
<p id=”par-6_45″>“With everything <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/queen-elizabeth-ii-dead-british-monarch-dies-96.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>the late queen did</a>, there was always a point to it. This is just a bit of banter and humor for Prince William, which is very interesting, as it’s shifting from the royals always having a point to something more like becoming celebrities.” </p>

<p id=”par-7_48″>Harrold added, “I describe Harry and Meghan as ‘celebrity royals,’ and this is very much what William and Kate are also starting to do. This really goes to show that their approach is vastly different to anything we’ve seen before, and the transition is in full swing. </p>
<p id=”par-8_60″>“This could be what the royal family has to be in the future: a hybrid of celebrity and royal. They’ve already lost a lot of the mystery, which used to be what being a royal was all about. William obviously has plans to make it less royal, and maybe that will be more celebrity-focused with more red carpets, more showbiz-focused.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_55″>According to the former royal butler, “A lot of the traditionalists won’t like this. They will think this isn’t how the late queen or King Charles would do things, but they are young and modern. They are much more aware of the power of podcasts and social media, and they use them to their advantage.”</p>

<p id=”par-10_48″>William met the Kelce brothers through Swift a couple of years back. The Prince of Wales has been friends with the pop star since 2013, when they took the stage together with Bon Jovi to sing a rendition of “Livin on a Prayer” during a charity gala. </p>
<p id=”par-11_38″>In 2024, William attended Swift’s Eras Tour concert in London for his birthday with his oldest son, Prince George, and daughter, Princess Charlotte. The group hung out backstage and took pictures together, which they shared on social media.</p>
