Jack Whitehall and Roxy Horner are just hours away from saying ‘I do,’ but their wedding prep has been far from smooth sailing.
The stand-up comedian, 37, and model, 34, have been together since 2020, welcomed their first baby, Elsie, in September 2023, and got engaged in December 2024.
It wouldn’t be wrong to predict that their big day will be a lavish affair, what with Jack becoming one of the UK’s richest comics in recent years with an estimated net worth of £3.2million.
However, even the wealthiest grooms can get the planning very wrong.
Jack is, of course, the son of Michael and Hilary Whitehall, who frequently feature in his TV shows, leaving fans in stitches with their posh quips and antics on shows like Netflix docuseries Travels with My Father.
And while the family – which includes Jack’s two siblings – are endearingly close, the Bad Education star almost threw his and Roxy’s wedding into chaos by giving his mum the wrong dress code.
She then had no choice but to hunt for a new frock with weeks to go until her son became a married man.
Former actress Hilary told the Daily Mail: ‘When I asked Jack what the dress code was several weeks ago, he gave me the wrong dress code.
‘I got the wrong dress, [then] the wedding invitation arrived with a completely different dress code on it.’
As for how he responded to the blunder, Jack had a typical response.
‘[Jack] said, “Sorry about that, Mumsy”.’
Thankfully, Hilary was able to forgive him and joined her future daughter-in-law’s raucous hen party celebrations earlier this month.
Accompanying Roxy and her pals and dressed head-to-toe in sequins, Hilary also dined at a fancy London restaurant, where things got boozy before the group sang karaoke and received a dance lesson from now ex-Strictly pro Luba Mushtuk.
But the antics didn’t end there, as Roxy was surprised with a lap dance from a Magic Mike stripper, who pulled the stunned bride up onto the Hippodrome Casino stage from the front row.
As for Jack’s stag do, it’d be an understatement to call it lively, as he started drinking at 11am.
The recent SNL UK host invited A League of Their Own pals James Corden and Jamie Redknapp for a wild night out, which began with flowing drinks at The Devonshire pub before they headed in high spirits to Soho for a private show at the iconic Box nightclub, finishing the night in laddish style with a late-night mini-golf showdown at Swingers.
His star-studded crew also included rugby ace Lawrence Dallaglio and David Gardner.
Reflecting on his ‘unwise’ decisions, Jack confessed to Radio X afterwards that his memory was slightly hazy, although, by his standards, the whole thing was ‘pretty tame’.
‘[It was] relatively sensible; it was pretty tame,’ he told Chris Moyles. ‘I started with Guinness at about 11 o’clock in the morning, which was not that wise.
‘I have a sort of patchy memory about what sort of happened in the evening.’
He then joked about it all being ‘reported in the Daily Mail the following day’ after being papped.
‘So I got to wake up and literally get a blow-by-blow itinerary of what I was doing the night before.’
So, with mere hours to go until vows are exchanged, it’s all systems go, which has included extensive beauty prep for blushing bride Roxy.]
Sharing an update on Instagram after a facial, she also joked alongside a photo of her toes: ‘Excuse my wrinkly feet from being in the bath for too long but why did I decide to shave my big toes for the first time in my life before the wedding?
‘Now I’m going to have cuts that hurt and no one, literally; no one, not even my dog is going to notice that I have smooth big toes.’
