<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/king-charles/?swcfpc=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>King Charles is coming to America.

The monarch is scheduled to visit the United States in late April. Despite calls to cancel the trip over the U.S.-Israel war with Iran and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/donald-trump/?swcfpc=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Donald Trump‘s increasingly tense relationship with several European leaders, the Palace has not announced any change in plans. The details regarding the visit though have not all been ironed out yet.

What we do know is that it will be a three-day visit that will include a state dinner at the White House, a stop in New York City, and the king delivering a speech to a joint meeting of lawmakers in Washington, D.C. As The Mirror noted, the address will be the first by a British monarch since King Charles’ mother, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/queen-elizabeth-ii-dead-british-monarch-dies-96.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Queen Elizabeth II, gave one to the House Chamber in 1991.

In September, President Trump and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/melania-trumps-state-banquet-gown-reminiscent-viral-dress-color-do-you-see.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>his wife, Melania, were hosted by the king during their State Visit to the U.K. Then, in January, House Speaker Mike Johnson visited London and addressed Parliament, becoming the first U.S. House speaker to do so.

But King Charles and Queen Camilla won’t be the only royals the U.S. president is hosting. The Netherlands King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima are also scheduled to visit in April and stay overnight at the White House.

Their trip includes stops in Philadelphia and Miami as well, according to the Dutch National Information Service. The main purpose of the Dutch royals’ visit is to “strengthen diplomatic and economic ties.”
