Déjà Vu is opening up with honesty and a hopeful outlook as she continues to navigate her Bell’s Palsy diagnosis. “I’m still speaking to the side,” she said while talking with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. “The right side of my face is paralyzed. There’s a little movement… but over here, everything is kind of pushed to the side.”

In an honest reveal, Déjà Vu said her symptoms began suddenly in mid-March while traveling with the show’s team in Los Angeles, catching her off guard.

Looking back in a social media video shared days later, she described how quickly everything changed.

“I woke up Saturday morning [March 14], and I couldn’t feel the right side of my face,” she said, as quoted by Entertainment Weekly. “I was like, ‘What the heck? This is weird.’ So I jumped up… spent 6 hours in the ER in LA. And they told me I had Idiopathic paralysis.”

“It impacts a lot of things,” she added. “It’s kind of scary. … It wasn’t that bad initially, but it’s getting worse. But they say your body has to go through it.”

Finding Strength Through Treatment and Patience

As she continues her recovery, Déjà shared that she is taking a balanced approach, combining medical treatment with more holistic care while allowing herself the time to heal.

“First, they give you prednisone or a steroid shot, and an anti-viral to get your cranial nerve to go down because it’s inflamed,” she explained, as reported by People. “So I did that. And now I’m doing more holistic kinds of things. Facial massages, I’m doing acupuncture.”

She added that the condition has also required close attention to her eye, highlighting how it affects more than just facial movement.

“You have to go and see an ophthalmologist as well because it impacts your eye,” she said. “So it’s a lot involved to it. But again, I’m not in a lot of pain. It’s just a matter of processing it.”

Through it all, Déjà said the encouragement she has received has brought her comfort and perspective.

“Mine isn’t as bad as some that I’ve seen online. And I’m not in a lot of pain, it’s just more inconvenience,” she said. “So all things considered, it’s not that bad.”

She added, “Everybody’s been in my inbox with encouraging words and just giving me examples of things that may have happened to them and just suggestions,” she said. “Everybody’s just been so supportive.”

Ripa and Consuelos also shared their support during the segment.

Ripa and Consuelos also offered their support during the segment, surrounding Déjà with encouragement.

“I feel for you. You’re such a trooper,” Ripa said, while Consuelos added, “We love you very much.”

“Thank you,” Déjà replied. “Kelly, Mark, you guys have been so supportive. Even when it happened, you were like, ‘Déjà, what can I do for you?’ But thank you so much. It’s just time, I think, right now that can make it work.”

As she continues to heal, Déjà remains hopeful and open about her experience, using her platform to connect with others going through similar challenges.

“I’m hoping that it’ll wrap up soon,” she said. “But if you have any suggestions, let me know!”

She added that hearing from others has brought comfort and reassurance.

“And vice versa,” Déjà Vu said. “They’ve been helping me as well. I’ve been hearing other people who have been having this situation, other broadcasters as well. So there is a trajectory and hope and all that.”

Through her openness, Déjà is creating a space for connection and support, offering a gentle reminder that healing takes time, and no one has to go through it alone.
