Mel Gibson Spotted Packing on PDA With Italian Actress During Rome Date Night

Mel Gibson appears to be enjoying a new chapter in his personal life.

The Oscar-winning actor and director, 70, was recently spotted spending time in Rome with Italian actress and television personality Antonella Salvucci, months after his split from longtime partner Rosalind Ross.

In photos obtained by TMZ, Gibson and Salvucci appeared affectionate throughout an evening together in the Italian capital, packing on the PDA as they explored several romantic locations.

According to the outlet, the night began with a seafood dinner at Micalusi-Real Fish, a restaurant in Rome, before the pair continued on what looked like a scenic late-night outing through the city.

Salvucci, 44, who is known in Italy as an actress, model, journalist, and TV personality, reportedly guided Gibson around several iconic landmarks after dinner.

One stop included The Zodiac, a panoramic viewpoint overlooking Rome that has earned a romantic reputation among locals. Often nicknamed a destination for couples, the scenic lookout is sometimes described as a popular place for late-night romance.

TMZ reported that Gibson and Salvucci were also seen sharing kisses near the Fontanone fountain on Gianicolo Hill before eventually heading back to their hotel after the evening together.

Gibson Split From His Partner of Nine Years

The apparent date night comes several months after Gibson and screenwriter Rosalind Ross ended their relationship in December 2025 after nine years together.

Although the breakup marked the end of a long-term partnership, the former couple made it clear that their focus remains on raising their son, Lars.

“Although it’s sad to end this chapter in our lives, we are blessed with a beautiful son and will continue to be the best parents possible,” Gibson and Ross said in a joint statement following their split.

Gibson and Ross first began dating in 2014 after reportedly meeting through mutual friends.

Over the years, the relationship remained largely private, though Ross often accompanied the actor to public events and supported him during major career moments.

The couple welcomed their son Lars in 2017, arriving during a particularly eventful period in Gibson’s professional life.

Just days after becoming a father again, the actor received an Academy Award nomination for Best Director for “Hacksaw Ridge.”

Gibson Has 9 Kids

Lars is Gibson’s youngest child. The actor is also father to eight older children from previous relationships, including seven children with ex-wife Robyn Moore and daughter Lucia with former partner Oksana Grigorieva.

Gibson has previously reflected on what it was like becoming a father later in life.

Back in 2010, while appearing on “The Jay Leno Show,” Gibson joked that parenthood felt different with age, according to People.

“You know, you’re more mellow,” the actor, then 54, said. “There’s shortcuts, I guess. Earplugs, you know!”

When host Jay Leno asked whether he was helping with overnight parenting duties, Gibson responded candidly.

“I will be honest, I would say that her mother does the lion’s share of that work, but you know, I support her.”

The actor is private and has mainly tried to keep his children out of the spotlight.
