Prince William & Kate skipped the QEII memorial but attended a palace reception

Whoops, I was wrong. I said earlier that it looked like the Prince and Princess of Wales were simply going to tweet about Queen Elizabeth’s 100th birthday. I thought they were still on vacation somewhere in the Alps. But no, they showed up at Buckingham Palace today for a reception honoring QEII. Interestingly enough, William and Kate skipped the memorial service at the British Museum in London earlier in the day. Many family members attended that service, including King Charles, Camilla, Prince Edward, Sophie, Sarah Chatto and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. William and Kate are never beating the “you can’t schedule anything before 3 pm, they need to sleep it off” allegations.

People Mag says that Kate wore the late queen’s three-strand pearl necklace at this palace event, but I think the necklace is actually the one Kate purchased for herself? I honestly don’t know- all three-strand pearl necklaces sort of look alike to me. Her dress is Emilia Wickstead, and all of her Wickstead dresses look alike to me too! So I don’t know if this is new or old.

Anyway, Will and Waity are back to work! Poor sausages will need another vacation after this. Updated to add more photos!
