The iconic Sharon Stone has bravely admitted she got catfished while trying online dating.
Gorgeous Stone, 68, who is best known for her sex symbol status and starring roles in movies like 1990’s “Total Recall,” 1992’s “Basic Instinct,” and 1995’s “Casino,” has been married twice before.
Stone’s first marriage to film producer Michael Greenburg lasted from 1984 until 1990. Her second marriage to journalist and editor Phil Bronstein lasted from 1998 until 2004. Her surprising lack of relationship success since then has led her to dive into the scary world of online dating.
In a chat with Jimmy Kimmel, the ever-stunning star revealed one guy had the audacity to catfish her after they matched on an unspecified app.
Sharon Stone’s Date Looked Nothing Like His Photos
Sharon Stone got on to the topic of her love life in a chat with Jimmy Kimmel on the Thursday, May 7 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” A clip of the chat has been uploaded to the official Instagram page of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Kimmel brought the topic up by saying, “I remember being astonished that you were doing online dating, because I figured people would just approach you and propose to you as they saw you walking around.”
Stone admitted she doesn’t consider herself smart when it comes to online dating. She then explained her bugbears about it, such as men not having a plan when it comes to date venues. That led to her telling the story of the time she was catfished by one of her matches.
Stone began, saying, “I went on a date with a guy and his profile was very cute. Super-ripped, very cute face, very funny and cute, but I thought he’s a little over worked-out, maybe he’s not super tall.”
The star continued, “So I go on my date, I show up at the restaurant and the lady says ‘he’s at the bar.’ I go to the bar and this man stood up and he was so large, he was a double wide. I mean he was really big.”
Kimmel then asked Stone if the man was a different person to the one in his dating profile pictures, to which she replied, “The guy in the pic was ripped and really cute. A little cute guy. This guy was just two barstools.”
Stone Walked Out on Her Catfish: ‘I Don’t Date Liars!’
GettyTo get to the bottom of the situation, Stone pulled out her phone, showed the guy his pictures, and asked, “Is this you?” He responded that he’d been in a car accident, which supposedly explained his extreme transformation.
Her date then asked if she would like a drink, to which Stone replied, “I don’t date liars.” She then left the restaurant.
Stone then said to Kimmel, “I’m just in this place where it’s like, whatever you are, just show up as authentically you.”
And do you know what? That’s absolutely fair enough.
