Starfield mods turn the game into The Mandalorian – and fans love it

A series of new mods have transformed Starfield into Star Wars, including the ability to play as The Mandalorian.

Starfield was one of the most anticipated games of 2023 but in the end it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment, only receiving one nomination at The Game Awards.

Player numbers also dwindled in the months after it launched, but Bethesda has an ace up its sleeve for the role-player: mod support for fans to customise the game however they want.

Mod support hasn’t been released yet, but fans have already started adding their own mods to the game, including a new one that makes Starfield look like Star Wars.

Reddit user ChristianNDR had added no less than 12 mods to Starfield to make it look more like the Star Wars TV series, and it looks pretty fantastic.

They can all be downloaded from Nexus Mods, and including mods that make characters look like the Mandalorian, Princess Leia, stormtroopers, rebels, and various aliens from the Star Wars universe – all with their authentic weapons.

The mods used also added Star Wars inspired posters and graffiti to buildings, but, unfortunately, there are no lightsabers yet.

Fans still loved it, with Ayaminator commenting: ‘You actually make me want to touch Starfield again, crazy bro.’

‘Prediction: Starfield will be the best Star Wars single-player game ever when the mods start shooting out for this thing in five years,’ said Fearless.

‘If there’s one thing that I know is going to maintain my interest in this game, it’s the Star Wars mods,’ said OldContemptible, adding, ‘A few years from now Starfield might just turn into the open world Star Wars game fans have long been clamouring for.’

‘Mods are the only thing that will get me to play this again, hope Bethesda can release the kit soon,’ added Jordan.
