Hollywood actor Corey Feldman has been hospitalised after suffering a mid-flight medical emergency.
The Goonies star, 54, was rushed to the hospital after his flight from Chicago to Los Angeles landed at LAX on Monday afternoon.
It is believed that the ’80s teen star was feeling sick on the flight and was checked out by a fellow passenger who is a doctor.
A source close to Feldman told TMZ that doctors believe Feldman may be experiencing pancreatitis, the inflammation of the pancreas or gallstones.
It was also confirmed to the outlet by a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson that it responded to assist a 54-year-old male at an airport who was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Feldman, who rose to fame as one of the most recognisable child stars of the 1980s, was in Chicago to attend the 40th anniversary celebration for the film Stand By Me.
Joining his co-stars Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton, the trio attended Stand By Me: The Film and Its Stars 40 Years Later at The Chicago Theatre on Sunday night.
Their co-star River Phoenix died of a drug overdose in 1993 at just 23 years old.
On Sunday night, Feldman shared a series of photos and videos to Instagram of him driving to Chicago for the event.
He was also seen stopping by Michael Jackson’s childhood home in Gary, Indiana, on the way.
Speaking in a video on his post, Feldman told his 281,000 followers: ‘We’re on our way to Chicago to tear it up. Gonna be a great night. Lots of people coming — thousands.’
He ended the short video by telling his followers ‘God bless’ and to spread ‘peace and love’.
The actor was a breakout star in his youth in the 80s after he appeared in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Gremlins, The Goonies, and Stand by Me.
He also went on to appear in several other films and series including The Lost Boys franchise, The Bad News Bears, and Madame’s Place.
Most recently, Feldman appeared in The Masked Singer in the US in 2024.
He was, however, eliminated in the ninth episode of the eleventh series, losing out to Chrissy Metz from This is Us.
Pancreatitis is the inflammation of the pancreas, which is a vital organ located behind the stomach. Gallstones, meanwhile, are hardened deposits of digestive fluid (bile) that form inside the gallbladder.
Metro has contacted Corey Feldman for comment.
