Netflix’s The Witcher season four could be taking some inspiration from the video games, it’s been reported.

The upcoming series will see Liam Hemsworth replace Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, while Freya Allan continues her role as Ciri.

The fantasy series follows monster-hunter Geralt continue on his quest with his surrogate daughter Ciri, powerful sorceress Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and loyal bard Jaskier (Joey Batey).

And while details of the new season have been kept under wraps, with a first look at The Hunger Games star Liam in his new role yet to be released, rumours are swirling over the characters’ outfits, and are said to be taking more elements from the video games.

According to reports by Redanian Intelligence, Geralt’s new outfit is similar to the black, leather jacket worn by his character in The Witcher 3’s Grandmaster Wolven armour.

It has ‘fewer accessories’, and Liam is said to ‘look good’ with Geralt’s signature white wig and stubble.

Meanwhile, Ciri’s look is slightly different to the books, reportedly ‘less colourful’, but similar to her base outfit in The Witcher 3, with ‘fewer accessories’ too.

It is still unknown why Superman actor Henry, who is welcoming his first baby with girlfriend Natalie Viscuso, left the series, but Liam is said to be ‘very excited’.

‘The big thing I can share is that in season four our world grows even more. So we begin to explore new parts of the Continent that will be familiar to the fans, but that we haven’t yet seen in our series,’ locations manager and production designer Andrew Laws teased to Metro.co.uk last year, ahead of the release of the second half of the third season.

‘So we’re exploring different location opportunities, both in the UK and outside the UK for different parts of the stories. We do know what our season is at this point. We do have scripts, so we are still advancing with what we’re doing in terms of pre-concepting locations and concepts for sets, etc.’

He continued: ‘So it’s a very exciting season. Liam’s been down to the studio, we’ve walked him through preliminary concept ideas for things. He’s very excited. He’s super enthusiastic. I think it’s gonna be a really great evolution for the show.’

‘I’ve met Liam briefly and he is six foot four and another beautiful specimen for a costume designer to showcase, so I’m very lucky. It’s very exciting as well because he’s going to bring something special,’ costume designer Lucinda Wright added.
