Overnight lane and ramp closures will continue beginning Friday night and into next week on the 405 Freeway through the Sepulveda Pass as crews continue work on a $143.7 million pavement rehabilitation project.
Lane reductions on the southbound 405 between Ventura Boulevard and Mulholland Drive will start at 10 p.m. Friday and continue nightly through 5 a.m. Monday.
In addition, the on-ramp from Ventura Boulevard to the southbound 405 will be closed, as will the Valley Vista Boulevard/Sepulveda Boulevard on- and off-ramps, and the Getter Center Drive off-ramp to the northbound 405.
Between Monday and next Saturday morning, the closures will be scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as follows:
— Up to four lanes of the northbound 405 closed between Wilshire Boulevard and Skirball Center Drive/Mulholland Drive
— The eastbound Wilshire Boulevard on-ramp to northbound 405 will be closed
— The westbound Wilshire Boulevard on-ramp to the northbound 405 will be closed
— The Sunset Boulevard off/on-ramp to the northbound 405 will be closed, as will the Moraga Drive off/on-ramp to the northbound 405, the northbound 405 off-ramp to Getty Center Drive, the Burbank Boulevard on-ramp to the northbound 405, the Sepulveda Boulevard off/on-ramp to the southbound 405, and the Ventura Boulevard off/on-ramp to the southbound 405
— Up to four lanes of the southbound 405 will be closed between the 101 Freeway and Skirball Center Drive/Mulholland Drive
— The Burbank Boulevard on-ramp to the southbound 405 will be closed along with the nothbound 101 connector to the northbound 405 and the northbound 101 Freeway connector to the southbound 405
The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph in certain sections along the north- and southbound 405, according to Caltrans.
The closures are part of the I-405 Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Van Nuys and Westwood, which is intended to improve safety and mobility and extend the life of the freeway pavement.
Residents and businesses near the construction may experience noise, vibrations and dust, Caltrans said.
