Six people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash in Encino that shut down a part of Ventura Boulevard in both directions on Saturday morning, Sept. 12, authorities said.
Los Angeles firefighters and paramedics responded around 11:15 a.m. to the collision at Ventura Boulevard and Densmore Avenue, the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement.
Six people were treated at the scene before being taken to hospitals, according to LAFD. Their conditions were not immediately available.
Ventura Boulevard was shut down in both directions near Densmore Avenue while police officers and paramedics responded to the crash.
Valley Beth Shalom synagogue sits at the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Densmore Avenue. The crash occurred on Rosh Hashanah, which would have attracted additional traffic, though it was unclear if any of those injured in the collision were attending services.
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
