Applications opened this week for a spot in the 2027 Rose Court.
Seven of the thousands of expected applications will be selected to ride on the court’s float on Friday, Jan. 1, 2027 in the 138th edition of the Rose Parade.
In addition to participating in the parade, each Rose Court member will receive a $7,500 scholarship and participate in pre-Rose Parade community events.
Eligible applicants must live and attend full time school within the Pasadena Area Community College District or one of seven additional eligible zip codes including Eagle Rock, Highland Park, San Gabriel and Alhambra (90032, 90041, 90042, 91775, 91776, 91801 and 91803).
Tournament of Roses spokesperson Candy Carlson said applicants displaced by the Eaton fire who no longer reside within the geographic guidelines are still eligible to apply if they attend a school within the guidelines.
“We ask that they include their current address and the address impacted by the fire,” Carlson said in an email. “Their strength is recognized, and we want to make sure applicants have every opportunity to be part of this experience.”
According to the Tournament of Roses, the court is intended to be a well-rounded group that serve as ambassadors for the organization, the Pasadena community and greater Los Angeles area.
The first round of Rose Court interviews will take place at the Tournament House on Saturday, Sept. 5 and Tuesday, Sept. 8. The 2027 Rose Court will be announced on Monday, Sept. 28 and the the queen will be announced on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
“Welcome” will serve as the theme for the 2027 Rose Parade.
