Bears right tackle Darnell Wright left late practice Tuesday with what appeared to be a right arm injury.
Wright went to sideline during red-zone work and was getting checked by a trainer. As he walked to Halas Hall, he was flexing his elbow.
Wright played through a torn UCL in his right elbow most of last season and delivered the best performance of his career. He was selected second-team All-Pro and signed a four-year, $116 million contract extension three weeks ago. He has missed two games in his career.
Without him, the Bears moved Theo Benedet to his spot with the first-string offensive line.
The line already is working through some uncertainty after center Drew Dalman retired and Ozzy Trapilo suffered a major knee injury in the playoffs. Former Patriots starter Garrett Bradbury is the new center, while left tackle is a question mark as Trapilo ramps up toward being able to practice in full.
Bears coach Ben Johnson called left tackle “a hot spot” before practice Tuesday and said he’s still not settled on a starter. Braxton Jones has been leading the competition.
