Bears to practice at Stevenson High School as part of training camp

The Bears have kept training camp almost entirely at Halas Hall the past several years, but they’re branching out with a new idea next month.

The team announced Wednesday it will hold an open practice at nearby Stevenson High School on Aug. 10, the week leading up to their preseason opener at home against the Browns.

The Bears don’t have a practice scheduled at Soldier Field, though it’s still possible they’ll add one.

Other than their joint practices with the Bengals and Titans on the road, this is the only practice away from Halas Hall. The team is holding 10 open practices at its headquarters, though all tickets have been claimed.

The practice at Stevenson, which is being called Varsity Bears at starts at 11 a.m., is free, but requires a ticket due to space constraints. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster on Thursday at 10 a.m.

The practice is a walk-through, meaning it’ll be lighter and shorter than a regular one.

In the blazing heat of July, Hallmark began filming “Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story,” with cast, cameras and film crews spotted at Federal Plaza.
Williams barely edged out Sam Darnold, the Seahawks’ Super Bowl-winning quarterback, as well as the Packers’ Jordan Love and the Commanders’ Jayden Daniels.
He’s the last Bears draft pick to sign.
