British luxury watchmaker Bremont is marking the 250th anniversary of the United States with the release of a highly exclusive timepiece: the Terra Nova Jumping Hour 1776.

The new model builds upon the design of Bremont’s Terra Nova collection, which first debuted in 2025. Inspired by early 20th-century military pocket watches, the America 250-themed timepiece features a modern 40.5mm geometric cushion-shaped case crafted from high-grade 904L stainless steel.

For this patriotic milestone, the watch undergoes a major aesthetic transformation. A grained blue dial serves as the backdrop for a bold red, white, and blue color palette, and it’s inscribed with “1776” in a typeface that replicates the historic handwriting of Timothy Matlack, the scribe of the original Declaration of Independence.

The dial utilizes an unconventional “jumping hour” complication that may be familiar to avid collectors. Instead of a traditional hour hand, the hour is read via an aperture at 9 o’clock on a roulette-style disc featuring red and black numerals. The minutes are tracked alongside it, complemented by a central running seconds hand finished in full Super-LumiNova. A white star motif accents the minute track, while red triangles at 3 and 9 o’clock complete the horizontal layout.

“America’s story is one of pioneers and explorers, and that is the same spirit that Bremont was built from,” said Bremont CEO Davide Cerrato in a statement shared by the watchmaker. “The stars across the dial, the eagle on the caseback, and the elegant inscription of 1776 is our tribute to that ambition.”

Turning the watch over reveals an engraved case back depicting an eagle soaring above a stars-and-stripes field. Protection is provided by a flat, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and the watch boasts 100 meters of water resistance. It’s powered by the exclusive BC634AH automatic movement, which delivers a 56-hour power reserve.

The Terra Nova Jumping Hour 1776 is limited to just 250 pieces and is available now at Bremont boutiques and on bremont.com. The special-edition watch is priced at $4,600 for the stainless steel bracelet style and $4,300 for the blue textured strap version.
