A Rohnert Park mother stopped the sale of a marijuana vape pen to her child, leading to the arrest of the alleged seller, authorities said.
In a news release, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said a man communicated with a 12-year-old through Snapchat to set up a deal to sell a marijuana vape.
The child’s mother, however, interrupted the sale at their home on July 1, authorities said. The man left the family’s home, but not before the mother captured photos of his face and vehicle.
Officers identified the suspect as a Sonoma resident and, later that evening, the man was located by a Sonoma County sheriff’s deputy in the 200 block of Petaluma Avenue in Sonoma.
A Rohnert Park officer arrested the man on suspicion of sale of marijuana to a minor under 14.
