ST. LOUIS — The first of four games between the Cubs and the division-rival Cardinals was delayed Monday night, with storms dumping rain on Busch Stadium.
Word of the delay came more than a half hour prior to the originally scheduled first-pitch time of 6:45 p.m. The teams started playing ball at 8:31 p.m. following a delay of 1 hour and 46 minutes.
The Cubs, in the middle of a two-city road trip against NL Central opponents, started the day seven games back of the division-leading Brewers.
