Disneyland preps for Halloween as 70th anniversary celebration comes to an end

Disneyland will bring back a fan-favorite version of World of Color as the Anaheim theme park winds down its 70th anniversary celebration after a 15-month run and prepares for the busy Halloween and Christmas seasons on the horizon.

Disneyland will fill the entertainment gap with some familiar favorites in mid-August after the anniversary ends and before Halloween Time starts.

Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration that began on May 16, 2025 will officially come to an end on Sunday, Aug. 9.

World of Color — One” will run on select nights from Aug. 10 through Oct. 31 on Paradise Bay at Disney California Adventure.

The returning water show celebrating 100 years of Disney storytelling replaces “World of Color Happiness” that debuted in May 2025 as part of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration.

There will be no World of Color shows on Aug. 13, Aug. 23-30 or on Oogie Boogie Bash nights.

The Paint the Night parade and “Wondrous Journeys” nighttime spectacular that played during Disneyland’s 70th anniversary will extend their runs through Aug. 20.

The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade that travels along the Disneyland parade route will have its final performance on Aug. 9.

Halloween Time starts Aug. 21 at Disneyland and DCA and runs through Oct. 31 with the “Halloween Screams” nighttime spectacular, “Mickey’s Trick and Treats” kids show, Plaza de la Familia entertainment and holiday ride overlays.

The new Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake street party will replace the Frightfully Fun Parade during this year’s separate admission, after hours Oogie Boogie Bash running on select nights from Aug. 18 through Oct. 31 at Disney California Adventure.

The brief break between the Halloween and Christmas seasons at the Disneyland resort leaves just enough time to swap pumpkins for candy canes.

The 2026-27 winter holiday season will return to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure from Nov. 13 through Jan. 6.

Familiar returning favorites will include A Christmas Fantasy parade and “Believe in Holiday Magic” fireworks at Disneyland, Festival of the Holidays and Viva Navidad at DCA and holiday ride overlays at both parks.

Disneyland has announced World of Color will be part of the winter holiday entertainment lineup without saying which version of the water show will play on Paradise Bay.

The “World of Color Season of Light” has made sporadic appearances during the holidays since its 2016 debut.
