Hawi Feysa repeats as women’s Chicago Marathon champion

Hawi Feysa pulled away late to repeat as champion of the women’s 2026 Chicago Marathon.

Feysa and Sharon Lokedi were dueling into the last couple miles before Feysa ran away from Lokedi, winning the race at 2:13.33 for a new personal best. Lokedi came in second at 2:14.07.

Before Sunday, Ruth Chepngetich was the last woman to repeat as champion, winning in 2021 and 2022.

Brigid Kosgei, the 2018 and 2019 champion, finished third at 2:14.55.

Women’s wheelchair division

Catherine Debrunner reclaimed her title, winning in 1:33.16 to set a world record. The 2023 and 2024 winner, Debrunner finished ahead of second-place Tatyana McFadden (1:42.01).

By winning in Chicago, Debrunner continued her dominant 2026. The first-place Chicago medal joins the ones she’s earned in Tokyo, London and Berlin.

The 2025 champion, Susannah Scaroni was absent after having a child in August.
