THIS is the moment a gunman opened fire on a street as terrified passers-by cowered – before he was snared in a dramatic swoop.
Deraj Meade, 22, fired two shots on John Bright Street in Birmingham city centre – sending revellers on a dash for cover.

He had arrived in the nightlife area at 10.30pm on a warm Saturday night, visiting at least one bar and then a club.
Meade left the club at 3.10am – and was caught on CCTV ten minutes later firing a gun twice in the packed street.
The gunman was returning fire after an unknown assailant shot him in the left arm.
Meade fled the scene – before cops collared him five days after the shooting on June 17 last year.
Bodycam footage shows how cops in a fleet of unmarked cars followed Meade’s BMW onto a suburban side-street.
Armed officers then leapt out of their motors, brandishing black carbines.
One can be heard shouting: “You’re under arrest – show me your hands! Don’t make any sudden movements!
“Get your hands up now! Get your hands up!”
The cop wearing the bodycam then moved to open the back seat door of Meade’s BMW.
He then slammed the door shut and opened the driver’s seat door – dragging Meade onto the pavement.
Within seconds of stopping him, the officers had pulled Meade’s arms behind his back and cuffed him.
Det Sgt Lucy Mooney said: “Meade’s actions put a large number of innocent people at risk.”
She added: “He decided to fire shots in the street on a busy Saturday night.
“But quick-time investigations saw us detain him within just a matter of days and he is now behind bars.
“We are committed to protecting our communities from gun crime like this.
“We take robust measures to stop those who seek to bring violence onto our streets.”
The CCTV evidence against Meade was so overwhelming he pleaded guilty on the first day of his trial.
He admitted possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and having ammunition without a certificate.
Meade has now been jailed for seven years and two months at Birmingham Crown Court.
