Housing conference brings elected and community leaders to Ontario Convention Center

Housing was in the spotlight Friday, July 31, at the Ontario Convention Center, where hundreds of business and civic leaders from the Inland Empire and Southern California gathered for a Housing Attainability Conference.

The focus of the conference was “addressing housing attainability through innovation and partnerships.”

Political leaders came out to discuss housing in the region, including Rep. Norma Torres, D-Ontario; Assemblymember Juan Carrillo, D-Victorville; along with state Sens. Kelly Seyarto, R-Murrieta; Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh, R-Yucaipa; and Sen. Bob Archuleta, D-Norwalk.

Steps to “address the housing crisis,” “affordable housing” and different housing types, builder and city partnerships, and “Opportunity Zones,” were discussion topics of the various panels.

The day-long event was put on by the Building Association of Southern California and National Core. Sponsors included developers, municipalities, elected leaders and this news organization.
