Karol G & Casa Dragones Team Up For Summer Tequila Cocktail Recipe

You might call the partnership between stunning pop star Karol G and lauded tequila maker Casa Dragones a truly harmonious collaboration, and Karol G’s favorite summer sipper could be music to your ears.

The 2026 Coachella headliner worked with the tequila enthusiast favorite and its founder, Bertha González Nievem on her own expression (the producer’s first-ever Cristalino expression), one that debuted last fall. The luxurious expression is now put to great use with an effervescent and remarkably fun seasonal cocktail recipe, which seems to pair perfectly with Karol G’s summer-friendly lifestyle, as the Colombian singer’s vibrant pop songs offer the perfect soundtrack (“200 Copas” by Casa Dragones can be found at retailers like Total Wine for an SRP of about $105).

The 100 percent Blue Weber agave tequila takes its cues from 12 months of aging in American oak barrels, with filtration lending itself to a crystal-clear look and an elegant, agave-forward and light finish.

For “Karol G’s Paloma,” the singer appeared in an Instagram Reel from San Miguel de Allende, detailing the use of “200 Copas” tequila, fresh grapefruit and lemon juice, in a glass featuring a Himalayan pink salt rim. Fresh grapefruit juice is crucial, the singer said. “It will taste much better. I think that’s the secret to our Paloma,” she said on Instagram.

The Recipe:

  • 1.5oz. 200 Copas by Casa Dragones
  • 2oz. fresh grapefruit juice
  • 0.5oz. lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz. natural syrup
  • 1.5oz. sparkling water
  • Himalayan pink salt
  • Grapefruit slice (to garnish)

The Process:

  • Combine all ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice before shaking until cold.
  • Serve over a thin vertical ice cube in a highball glass, garnishing the glass with Himalayan pink salt and a grapefruit slice on the rim.

“200 Copas” proved as fitting a title for Karol G’s signature Casa Dragones tequila as any, with the worldly anthem celebrating the joy of music, dance and inhibition, while at the same time lending an ultra-lively feel to the producer’s first-ever Cristalino expression. Karol G worked in tandem with founder Bertha González Nieves, herself a pioneering female tequila producer in a male-dominated field.

“When I created my song ‘200 Copas,’ I remember being surrounded by my closest friends – who actually all appear in the music video – and thinking how lucky I was to be sharing such cherished moments with them,” she said in a statement announcing the release.

“Ever since, I knew I wanted to create something tangible that could capture the value behind that moment and allow people to connect in the same way,” she added, noting that “tequila was the drink we were having that night, and I was already such a big fan of Casa Dragones that I couldn’t think of anyone better than Bertha – the first Maestra Tequilera in the world – to craft it with me.” Karol G also calls the award-winning company “an authentic tequila maker who understands tradition but also dares to innovate.”

The effervescent and gorgeous Karol G has seemingly been everywhere as of late, from headlining Coachella (the first Latin pop star to receive top billing at the buzzed-about festival) to plotting an ambitious 2026-27 global tour.
