‘Major incident’ at Ammanford school as cops and air ambulance rush to the scene

POLICE have today swooped on a school amid fears of a major incident.

The air ambulance has also landed at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire.

Worried parents reported seeing dozens of police cars scrambled to the school where a heavy police presence remains.

It is not yet clear what is going on, with The Sun Online contacting police and the Welsh Ambulance Service.

Locals have reported seeing the air ambulance landing at the scene amid fears of a “serious” incident.

David Llywelyn, who lives opposite the school, told S4C News: “Something serious has happened.

“What I see is two air ambulances on the school field and two ambulance incident support units – there are up to ten police cars here.”

The Welsh language school has 1,800 pupils aged 11 to 18.

Former pupils include ex-Wales and British Lion rugby star Shane Williams and ex-MP Adam Price.
